FABRIC FLOWERS
So many ideas - so little time! Fabric and textiles can be used in so many ways to create useful items and gifts with a botanical theme.
The leaf bowl
One of my most favourite creations. This project does take time but the end result is worth it. The 3D bowl was made from layers of organza, a confetti of sparkly fabrics, free machine embroidery and wire.
Shadow flower tissue box cover
Flower themes are always a popular choice for tissue box covers. The one shown has been made with a firm fabric backing, a fabric layer in the middle, free-motion embroidery, organza on top and a little more stitching which has given a shadow effect to the flower design.

Felt applique flowers
These are funky abstract flowers that can be made to co-ordinate with your home decor. These are freestanding, so they are great for small places, but they could be used in many other ways too.
Stuffed flowers
Made from scraps of gingham fabric, this stuffed flower would be great for the nursery. Make just one or a whole lot. Put them in a pot, hang them on a wall, or bend the stem around something suitable.
