Small flower cube with roses
Hot to make an easy little table arrangement - assembly takes just a few minutes and is perfect for adding a splash of colour to a table. Because it is small, it is also great for long narrow tables, when only small arrangements are suitable. Open garden roses are great for table arrangements that don't have to last too long.

Container for arrangement
Use a glass, ceramic or acrylic cube - about 10cms / 4"square. If clear, use a broad leaf like aspidistra or dracaena to line the vase to hide the stems. Fold, cut or roll the leaf so that is level with the top.
Fill with water.

Arrange roses and greenery
Cut stems of leaves and roses quite short with a sharp knife at an angle. Arrange your chosen leaves at an angle so they will stay in place. Add roses or flowers as desired, also at an angle, so that the arrangement looks good from all sides. Bent grasses can be added for "movement" or nothing at all!

Only 3 open roses and 2 buds were used for this. Other largish, round flowers like peonies would also work well. Generally round flowers work better than spikey ones to achieve a compact flower posy look.
